Massage is an ideal
therapy to help an expectant mother to better cope with stress. When
we apply massage, we are also touching her mind. Soothing, caring
touch comforts the mother-to-be. As the mother’s feelings of
stress are conveyed biochemically to her baby, the mother’s calmer
state of mind can only affect her baby beneficially.
Massage remedies many of the normal discomforts experienced during
pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramping, headaches,
edema, round ligament pain, sciatica, and swollen ankles and feet.
